FHU College of Business Celebrates Student Achievements with Chapel, Luncheon
FHU College of Business held its annual Senior Awards Chapel and Luncheon to celebrate the academic achievements of students as they prepare for post-graduate life. Ten seniors and one graduate student were recognized for their work in several disciplines including accounting, marketing, management, business analytics, finance, financial planning and sport administration. In addition, six undergraduates received the Sewell Scholarship, which awards a rising sophomore, junior or senior with a minimum 3.0 grade point average with a $5,000 scholarship ($2,500 a semester). Recipients must demonstrate leadership, integrity and professionalism. "Deciding these awards is never easy," Dr. Matt Vega, dean of the College of Business, said. "We're so thankful for all of your efforts. We know whatever your next chapter is, you will not only glorify us, but you will glorify God."

FHU Recognizes Outstanding Student Achievements During Awards Day Presentations
As another academic year draws to a close, Freed-Hardeman University paused to recognize some of its highest achieving students in various fields during special Awards Day chapel presentations April 16 and 17. FHU professors and staff members, each representing a different field of work or study, took to the Loyd Auditorium stage during these two days to celebrate the accomplishments of more than 60 dedicated students.

Alpha Chi Honor Society Inducts Eleven FHU Students
Eleven Freed-Hardeman University students were inducted into the Alpha Chi National Honor Scholarship Society in March. Alpha Chi membership is by invitation only to juniors and seniors with a minimum grade point average of 3.75 on at least 80 credit hours earned hours and be in the top 10% of the junior and senior class to qualify for membership. This semester's inductees all have a GPA of 3.95 or higher. The following students were inducted: Lilly Collum, Catherine Crabb, Jesse Eaton, Sarah Eddleman, Clark Endsley, Camille Erwin, Meagan Frye, Eden Matherley, Alicia Harrington, Hailey Watson and Courtney Willcut. Congratulations to the Spring 2022 inductees to FHU's chapter of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society!

Eighteen Freed-Hardeman University students were inducted into the Alpha Chi National Honor Scholarship Society this fall. All inductees this semester had a GPA of 3.9 or higher. Alpha Chi membership is by invitation only to juniors and seniors with a minimum grade point average of 3.75 on at least 80 credit hours. The top 10% of this year's inductees all earned a GPA of 3.92 or higher.

Freed-Hardeman University Awards Day Honors Students, Graduates
Freed-Hardeman University recognized more than 40 students for their academic excellence during its annual awards day held this spring. Students from several fields of study received awards including nursing, history, journalism, math, Spanish, computer science, English, theatre, Biblical studies, sciences, business, and art.

Alpha Chi Honor Society Inducts 27 Students at Freed-Hardeman University
Alpha Chi inducted 27 new members during two ceremonies held in October. FHU President David Shannon celebrated the new inductees on social media writing, "Congratulations to the students, who by the way, have a 3.9 GPA or higher! Alpha Chi was founded in 1922 to promote academic excellence and character. The Tennessee Iota Chapter of Alpha Chi was introduced to Freed-Hardeman in 1976. Membership is through invitation only to juniors and seniors. Inductees must have a minimum GPA of 3.9 or higher. Members have the opportunity to participate in academic and service projects, as well as attend the Alpha Chi convention. The convention gives students networking opportunities and a chance to present their research.
