Freed-Hardeman University Announces Spring 2025 Graduates
Approximately 334 students took part in Freed-Hardeman's 155th commencement ceremony which was held Saturday, May 17, 2025. The total includes 11 associate's, 253 baccalaureate degree recipients and 59 who completed graduate degrees. The total also includes 11 licensures, certificates and specialists. Freed-Hardeman University congratulates all graduates on their accomplishments and offer our prayers and best wishes in their future endeavors!

FHU Spring Commencement Honors Graduates, Looks to the Future
Freed-Hardeman University conferred 377 degrees upon a talented group of students during FHU's 154th commencement exercises Saturday, May 11, 2024. In addition to the 274 bachelor's degrees, 11 associate degrees, two education specialist degrees, 81 master's degrees and nine doctorates were also awarded. In his opening remarks, FHU President David R. Shannon noted that this group of graduates was unique in that many of them graduated high school at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. "There are a few graduates today for whom this is their first graduation because America was shut down during their high school graduation," he remarked. "And so we celebrate with you a little bit extra today - not just because of today but because of what you have persevered and traveled through to reach this mark of the journey."

Freed-Hardeman University held its fall commencement ceremony Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, in Loyd Auditorium where more than 100 students received certificates, associates, baccalaureate, master's and doctoral degrees. Freed-Hardeman University Announces May Graduates
Freed-Hardeman University held its spring commencement exercises in mid-May where approximately 286 students received degrees. Graduates received baccalaureate, graduate and certificates, licensures and associate's degrees. FHU alumna Sheerah Davis was the commencement speaker. With 25 years of human resources experience, Davis is the Global HR Lead and Chief People Officer for Dentsu Sports International, Incorporated, a global sports business network.

Freed-Hardeman University Announces Summer 2022 Graduates
Freed-Hardeman University announced approximately 40 summer graduates this month. Ten students received baccalaureate degrees while 14 students received graduate degrees. The remaining graduates completed their certificates, licensures and associate's degrees. Many of the students who completed their degrees in August participated in the May graduation ceremony held in Loyd Auditorium. During the commencement program, FHU President David R. Shannon reiterated the significant events of the 2021-22 school year and issued a challenge to graduates. He urged them to pray, serve, love and work like Jesus. "Live a life for His glory," he said, "and remember God loves you more than anyone." Quoting Isaiah 49:16, Shannon reminded them God said, "See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me."

Freed-Hardeman University Announces Spring 2022 Graduates
Approximately 350 Freed-Hardeman University students graduated May 14, 2022, during a spring ceremony held in Loyd Auditorium. In addition to baccalaureate and graduate degrees, 11 high school students enrolled in the university's early admission program were awarded Associate in Arts degrees. FHU Board of Trustees Chair and TriStar Bank Chief Executive Officer Ted Williams delivered the commencement address. He encouraged graduates to emulate God in their lives. "God was a giver," he said. "He gave his son." Williams noted the excitement of the day and graduates' anticipation of the future; however, he cautioned them. "Don't spend so much time focusing on what's next," he said. "Instead, enjoy the journey." Following Williams' address, FHU Provost and Vice President for Academics C.J. Vires presented the Faculty Scholarship-Leadership medal to Corey Sweatt, of Dyer, Tennessee. The award has been presented annually since 1938 to the student in the graduating class who possesses to the highest degree the following attributes: ability, quality of work, accuracy, love of knowledge and leadership. It is accompanied by a cash award made possible by FHU's Alpha Chi Honor Society. To conclude the commencement program, FHU President David R.
